Most DeSilva pottery pieces like this were produced between the 1960s and 1980s, during the period when handcrafted Italian ceramics became highly popular in North America. The glaze treatment and rustic form are especially characteristic of the 1970s.

Somewhere in an Italian kitchen decades ago, this bowl may have sat at the center of a family table filled with fresh bread, garden vegetables, or a favorite Sunday meal. Its warm golden glaze reflects the colors of the Mediterranean countryside, while the terracotta interior speaks to generations of traditional pottery craftsmanship. Today, it carries that same sense of gathering, hospitality, and simple beauty—ready to become part of a new family’s story. 🌿🇮🇹
